About Us

Krol Inventions was founded during the COVID lockdowns in 2020. Our founder, Gerard Krol, invented and developed an alternative to the traditional "people in squares" video conferencing. The intellectual property was sold to a US investor and turned into Katmai – The Virtual Office.

After this, Krol Inventions provided software consulting services, to both Katmai (USA) and, from 2023 onward, the Clinical Genetics department of the LUMC hospital (Leiden, The Netherlands).

In 2025 we launched our first hardware product, the LightPick - A Practical Alternative to the Ziath Mohawk.
